Sunday June 24th – Sponsored by: Saturn Cafe & Awakening The Bay
Find friendship and possibly love under the stars during our Constellations Tonight event. Your group will meet at 11am at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley for a 50 minute private workshop.
You’ll start the day in Lawrence Hall’s state-of-the-art digital planetarium, searching for the Big Dipper in the digital stellarium. You will learn all about this famous constellation, as well as ancient uses for tracking it, and other star formations. Afterward, you’ll work with your group to read a star map, and find even more constellations featured in the stellarium.
After your crash-course in star-gazing, enjoy 50 minutes of networking, with refreshments, followed by access to the museum for the remainder of the day. Sounds like a fun, no?
You don’t need to be an astronomer to enjoy this workshop; and, you get to keep your star map. Practice reading the skies at home alone, or with one or two friends you meet at the event!
