A few weeks ago Karine Brighten Events hosted a scenic hiking tour and picnic through Lands End in San Francisco, California. The morning began with a guided hike which was full of beautiful views of the San Francisco bay area, including the Golden Gate Bridge. Rain, the hike leader, did a great job educating the hikers about the various native plants in the area and their uses, especially in vegan and vegetarian cooking.
After everyone had worked up an appetite, the group was led up to a picnic area that overlooked much of the Bay Area. At the picnic the hikers had the opportunity to hear Chef Miyoko Schinner talk about dairy-free cheeses. Miyoko discussed how to put together a vegan cheese platter and all the hikers were welcome to taste each of the
delicious vegan cheeses. The fun continued with lawn games and a raffle. It was a beautiful day shared with wonderful people.
To learn more about chef Miyoko Schinner’s vegan cheeses check out her new book Artisan Vegan Cheese and attend her book launch party on October 20th where you can meet her and try some of her tasty cheeses and drink organic wines! Big thanks to Natalie for the amazing pictures!
