Joycups Bring Eco Joy

What could be better than chocolate? How about chocolate peanut butter cups that are not only organic, but also made with locally grown and fair trade products. That’s what Joycups are all about. It all started back in 1984 when Danna Coy made her first batch of Joycups for gifts. Since then Danna has perfected Joycups and has had so much success she and her husband are now selling them commercially full-time.

So what makes Joycups so unique? Joycups are made with local farmers markets’ berries, honey and organic peanuts from a local health food store (Sunshine Health Foods in Morro Bay), blended with creamy organic peanut butter and organic sea salts. According to creator and owner Danna, “The idea was always to be a sweet reflection of our beautiful Central Coast: fresh, local, lovely. Like a little vacation in every box.” These delicious chocolate peanut butter cups are also gluten free, dairy free and vegan; other than the honey flavored Joycup. They are the perfect wedding or event favor. “Each is topped with beautifully crafted cocoa butter designs for holidays, seasons, birthday, wedding, graduation and baby celebrations, special events and more.” They also, “offer custom private logos for gift baskets, wedding favors or events, wineries and company promotions or incentives.” Joyful Cups come in various flavors such as Peanut Butter and Honey, Peanut Butter and Blueberry/Lemon, and Peanut Butter and Olallieberry/Raspberry. To top it all off each Joyful Cup is packaged in eco-friendly materials.

To try Joycups yourself you can find Danna at Baywood Park Farmers Market on Mondays, Cambria Farmers Market Fridays and Templeton Farmers Market Saturdays April through September. You can also order online at www.thejoycupco.com.
